Medicare
We are a fee for service practice. We do not provide medicare "bulk billed services". We do provide Medicare rebated services as per the rules for psychological treatment by registered psychologists/ clinical psychologists under the Australian Government’s Better Access to Mental Health Care initiative.
If you have a referral from your GP under a Mental Health Care Plan you will be able to make a Medicare rebate claim that will subsidise the cost of the session.
Medicare will reimburse $93.35 per session with a registered psychologist, or $137.05 for a clinical psychologist for up to 10 sessions within a calendar year. The 10 additional sessions available due to COVID was discontinued as of 1st Jan 2024 by the federal Govt. You need to visit your GP to discuss referral under a Better Access Mental Health Care Plan.
Tele-Health and Rural Outreach
Can’t always make it to Tamworth? No problem.
No matter where you are, our clinicians are available to provide treatment and professional supervision services online or by phone. We have been providing telehealth services to our communities for over six years and find it a great way to connect with clients who find it difficult to attend in-person, whether that be because of geographical or time constraints.
We also provide both in person and telehealth services to rural outreach communities. Our team members live within the rural locations they serve, meaning they have a deep understanding of the pressures facing rural communities.
All telehealth sessions are conducted using the secure telehealth platform.
Workcover
WorkCover (SIRA) approved psychologists, are trained to treat workers so they can achieve a safe and durable recovery at work. As a part of the worker’s compensation scheme, you may be entitled to Psychological services in relation to your injury if it is recommended by your treating doctor.
To access funded services, you will need to obtain a WorkCover medical certificate from your treating doctor recommending that you see a Psychologist and provide written approval from your insurance agency.
We will work with you, your doctor, and insurer to assist in prompt assessment and treatment toward your psychological health.
NDIS
Managing life with a disability means facing many unique challenges.
At Calm Consultants, our NDIS psychologists and counsellor can aid individuals in navigating such challenges. As a part of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), you may be entitled to psychological services and support to improve your daily living skills or receive behavioural support.
To access services, you will either need self-managed or plan-managed NDIS funding. Once you have your approved self-managed or plan-managed funded NDIS plan, get in contact with our team to get the process started.
Employee Assistance Programs
Many workplaces offer employee assistance programs which you can self-refer to for support around any matter you may need to address. This can be of a work, personal, or relationship matter and is funded by your employer.
Calm Consultants has partnerships with many EAP providers. Chat with your Human Resources or Manager for information on how to access this service.
Private Health Insurance
Many private health insurers offer rebates and benefits for psychology services.
If your insurer covers you under ‘extras cover’ you may be entitled to a rebate. If you do have private health insurance you will need to check with your insurer what type of cover you have and what benefits and rebates you are eligible for.
For further information, please speak with your GP or private health insurer.
